Device Repair Agreement

NOTE: The agreement below is for repairing a device in-person at a KhemTech Repair retail store, this is NOT the agreement for mail-in repairs.. The agreement is signed and printed on every receipt prior to KhemTech repairing a device. Please read KhemTech’s terms prior to getting a device repaired.
Please read and sign below prior to the commencement of your repair service.

Table of Contents

1.

Data Liability & Backup Recommendation

It is highly recommended that you back up all data on your device prior to service. KhemTech and its technicians are not liable for any data loss, corruption, or hardware failure that may occur during the repair process.

2.

Service Estimates & Additional Labor

If the requested repair requires additional parts or labor not specified in the initial assessment, KhemTech will pause service and seek your explicit approval for a revised estimate before proceeding.

3.

Collection Policy & Uncollected Goods

All devices must be collected within 30 days of notification of completion, unless prior arrangements have been made in writing. Items left beyond 30 days may incur storage fees or be deemed abandoned under the Uncollected Goods Act 1995, granting KhemTech the right to sell or dispose of the device to recover costs.

4.

Liquid Damage Policy

KhemTech services liquid-damaged devices for data recovery purposes only. We do not perform structural or functional repairs on water-damaged devices due to the unpredictable nature of future corrosion. By signing, you acknowledge that KhemTech is not liable if the device becomes permanently non-functional after an attempted data recovery service.

5.

Pre-existing Physical & Internal Damage

Impact damage (such as dropping a device) can cause microscopic fractures in the logic board or internal components that may only manifest or worsen once the device is opened or handled during repair. KhemTech is not liable for secondary issues that arise due to these pre-existing conditions.

6.

Non-Working & Untestable Devices

If a device is brought to KhemTech in a non-working or unbootable state, a full diagnostic testing of secondary functions (e.g., cameras, speakers, sensors) cannot be performed beforehand. KhemTech is not liable for any pre-existing, hidden faults discovered after the primary repair is complete. If additional issues are found, you will be notified with an option to approve or decline further repairs at an additional cost.

7.

Turnaround Times & Parts Delivery

All repair timeframes provided are estimates only. While we strive to meet these timelines, KhemTech cannot guarantee specific completion dates, particularly when replacement parts must be ordered, as shipping and supply chain delays are beyond our control.

8.

Manufacturer Warranty Voidance

By authorizing KhemTech to service your device, you acknowledge that third-party repairs may void your original manufacturer or carrier warranty. KhemTech and its staff accept no liability for voided manufacturer warranties.

9.

Ownership & Authorization

By signing this work order, you affirm that you are the rightful owner of this device, or that you have been granted explicit authorization by the owner to consent to this repair service.
